This week, I had a tutorial with my tutor, and I got feedback about my question again. I was still confused and a bit lost. I tried to find and collect information about my project, but it was like I was walking in a circle. I felt overwhelmed because of the amount of information I had. But every time I have a tutorial, I get helpful advice, which helps me feel better.
Feedback
- How do you measure ‘value’ in your project question?
- What about impact/change? If you want to make an impact, try working with people who have never known art toys.
- How do they feel after interacting with art toys?
- How do people value art before?
- How do you demonstrate?
- Intervention idea – Art toys tour, take them to the art toys shop.
From the feedback, I think my question needs to be improved by focusing more on specific things about art toys.
Then, based on the feedback I received and also on what I wanted to do and what people would get from my project, I started thinking about a new question: “How can art toys be a medium for artistic expression and appreciation?” This question is more specific and doesn’t change the project’s main objective. It provides the opportunity to explore creativity and appreciative aspects of art toys, which I think is like a development of the original question.
After I had a new project question, I came up with the intervention idea. I’m thinking about an art toys workshop that will allow participants to learn more about art toys, not only people who already know art toys but also people who want to learn and explore new art forms.
The main objective of my project is to make people know the value of art toys as a legitimate art form. So, I have designed this intervention as a workshop that lets people learn through activity.
Here is the list of what I need to start this intervention…
- Objective
- Intervention plan
- A place to do a workshop
- Date and Time
- Where can I get participants?
- How do I gather the information and feedback from participants?
- Participant Consent Form and Information Sheet
Firstly, I started with a place for the workshop. I remembered that my friend told me about the shop where you can paint your own art toys. So, I went to Brick Lane, which is the location of that shop. The shop is called ‘Brick Lane Brick Shop by Ronzo.art’ The artist created the character of a brick from the name of this location, and they produced many products from this character design. They also made an art toy and allowed people to paint it.

I observed the shop and area to prepare for the intervention. I think this is a very good area for intervention because it is full of street art, which also relates to art toys. It is also a nice area to hang out on the weekend too!
I talked to the shop’s staff about my activity and asked him to join my activity as the expert to explain the process of making art toys for the participants. I also observed a meeting place where to start the activity.

After finishing the observation, I prepared the intervention by starting with the intervention plan.
I’ll call this intervention ‘Figure It Art: Discovering the Artistic World of Art Toys’. It aims to engage participants in learning and understanding the value of art toys as a form of art. By the end of the workshop, participants should have a better appreciation for art toys and see them as a legitimate form of art.
The plan is to give participants information about art toys, such as their history, techniques, and culturally related aspects, and let them use their creativity by painting their own art toy. For the evaluation part, I’ll conduct pre- and post-surveys to gather information from them.
I plan to do this workshop next weekend. So, let’s start with the visual of this intervention because graphics are really important to me. I have designed a poster for this intervention to make it more exciting and welcoming to participants.

Here is the final version of the poster design.

The objectives of this intervention are…
- Focusing on artistic expression and appreciation
- Emphasizes the creative and perception aspects of art toys
- How do art toys contribute to the art world?
- How are art toys used creatively?
- How are art toys perceived and valued by an audience?
Here are the pre-and post-survey that I will give to the participants.

The pre-and post-workshop surveys will help measure how well the intervention changed participants’ views and increased their appreciation.
I can’t wait to see how this intervention will make an impact on the people and me 🙂
